Yesterday, I wrote a post about two very similar running outfits with dramatically different price points and asked you to guess which was which. As promised, here are the answers.
Outfit A was $63.00 and Outfit B $256.00. I was really surprised to find how inexpensive I could get a decent looking get up for. Here is a break down of stores and prices….

Lisa I love love this idea for a post!!
so freakin creative.
and the outfit.
I shall take both please
Thank you MizFit!!
I have to say I think the one on the left looks a lot cuter, but based on seeing the CEP sleeves I guessed it was the less expensive one. I’m glad you added the honest bits about it being slightly less comfortable but OK to run in and how it felt a little “used” after it came out of the dryer. Personally I never dry any of my fitness stuff, maybe that’s why I don’t notice it? I’m always getting “cheap” hats and gloves though, then if I lose them or find I need to toss them at a race it isn’t a huge loss.
Julie, that’s a great point about not putting them in the dryer. I guess I am always in such a hurry I shove everything in.. but next I will try that..great idea.. I use quite a few Tar-Jay items.
Yes, as much as the expensive fitness attire can feel more comfortable, I find I don’t really ‘miss’ it when I’m donning cheaper gear. Guess I gotta go to Target!
I really don’t either Meredith… I just throw on a Spy belt for my keys and gels… Thank you!
Wow what a cool idea to compare the two! I usually go for cheapy workout clothes and TJ Maxx is my best friend, but my husband recently bought me my first pieces of Under Armour clothing and I have to say… my expensive taste may be developing
Hmm…no sports bra?
I guessed right – Saucony hat and those super cool arm warmers gave it away! But both look equally cute! And of course what’s nice about the cheaper option is that you don’t mind leaving hat, arm warmers, and gloves on the course if you get hot!
I have several different brands of compression socks and I think the Sigvaris are the best. Sigvaris isn’t well known among runners but they have a medical compression background and I think their graduated compression can’t be beat.
AG, I did not know this about Sigvaris… they feel very nice.. some of them bother me when I sleep but these did not.. nice to know that they are working as well.
Definitely good to know. Maybe when I’m back to my pre-pregnancy weight/shape, I won’t mind spending money for quality items… we’ll see. I don’t particularly like to part with my cash…
For these prices you could wear them as maternity clothes.. hope that you and your peanut are doing well.
Again, I love this feature…so fun! And I love target. I’ve never worn a running skirt. But, for that cheap, I might have to try it out.
Vieve, I have many running skirts and this one is right up there with one of my favorites.. it is equal to my moving comfort one at half the price… the only difference is it has no pockets…I just throw on a spy belt if I am doing a long run. Thank you for comments.
I have a few expensive pieces, but target and old navy are my go to stores for every day runs. I find that if you hang dry them, they hold up quite well. I also like the Tek Gear stuff from Kohl’s. Great bras if you are on the smaller side.
I’ve often wondered about the Tek gear from Kohl’s..I’ll have to try a bra out. Thank you for the great tips!
This is a great idea Lisa! So cool. I figured Lululemon would play a role in whatever outfit was most expensive, ha! I am looking for a new running skirt and was bummed by how much Lulu’s were. But looks like I should go to Target!
I think the Target one is just fine for a short run.. it didn’t feel as snug on and is absent of any pockets… did not wash as well but many suggested letting it air dry, which I think is a great idea. Certainly worth $17.99. I like to have a mix of spend and save in closet.
